James Whitmore Award Presented at Peterborough Players

Robert Hinds was awarded the James Whitmore Award on Saturday, August 29th, in a brief ceremony after the final performance of Anne of Green Gables at the Peterborough Players.

The winner of the award is nominated each year by Peterborough Players shop managers, staff, and Second Company peers.

James Whitmore Jr. spoke eloquently at the ceremony about how each and every member of the Second Company is indispensable to the overall work of the theatre. All Second Company interns and apprentices work behind the scenes for the plays produced at the Peterborough Players. In addition, intern Robert Hinds delighted audiences as the camel and the hippo in Just So Stories, and as Matthew in Anne of Green Gables. He is now returning to a graduate program at Purdue University to earn his MFA in acting.
