Peterborough Players’ Bad Dates a Good Night Out
One-Woman Play Keeps Audiences Laughing
Peterborough, NH (June 22, 2009) –Bad Dates, a comedy by Theresa Rebeck, has audiences laughing at the Peterborough Players professional theatre. The show, which runs through Sunday, June 28th, is a one-woman play starring Susan Riley Stevens. Stevens, who won the Barrymore Award for Best Performance by an Actress when she performed the role at the Act 2 Playhouse in Philadelphia, has the timing and presence to keep the audience engaged and entertained throughout the two-act play.
Stevens takes the stage as the shoe-addicted, date-challenged Haley – a single mom who is doing her best to manage her finances, select the right pair of shoes, and find love. Players’ Artistic Director Gus Kaikkonen masterfully directs the play, managing to guide Stevens in such a way that the audience doesn’t realize that one woman is performing all the action.
The Peterborough Players is a fully air-conditioned theatre that is handicapped accessible. Plenty of good seats still available. June 23, 24, 25, 26, & 27 at 8 p.m., June 28 at 4 p.m. Tickets $38-$43. Box Office at (603) 924-7585 or online at: www.peterboroughplayers.org.
