Unpaid Marketing Internship: Peterborough Players
Hone your marketing skills and augment your resume at one of the oldest and most well respected summer stock theatres in the U.S. in the beautiful, rural setting in the town of Peterborough, NH. Seven Main Stage shows and two children’s shows during the theatre season; vibrant off season of THE MET: LIVE IN HD opera series, plus more broadcasts in HD.
Self-starter. Strong computer skills inclusive of the Internet, social media; e.g. Facebook, and Twitter required. Demonstrated editing and proof reading skills necessary. Some knowledge of the theatre preferred. Must be willing to accommodate performance hours during theatre season.
Key areas of responsibility:
Publications
• Develop copy, proof read, layout and oversee production and inventory for the Theatre Season Program, 10 show inserts, and The Met: Live in HD opera season program book
Photography
• Download photos to server for each show, both publicity and archival.
• Serve as liaison between the photographer and actors.
• Facilitate headshots for actors/interns.
• Create lobby photo boards for each Main Stage show.
Promotion
• Develop and manage social media presence, including a Facebook page and Twitter account.
• Update and maintain the website content.
• Monitor social media and website traffic.
• Track media coverage, maintain media clip book and distribute reviews to actors.
• Facilitate distribution of show posters throughout community and region.
• Maintain updates to QR code mobile site advertising.
• Assist with building and maintaining Chamber of Commerce relationships throughout the region.
Administrative
• Cover office phone administration line as needed.
• Assist with Public Relations/Development mailings as needed.
• Attend meetings and take minutes for the Marketing Committee.
• Supervise the creation, distribution, and collection of theatre season surveys for Board.
Reports to Director of Marketing/Public Relations
Interacts with Actors, Professional Staff, Trustees (as directed)
Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts in a related discipline preferred.
Previous work experience with references preferred.
Housing provided.
Hours negotiable (25-35/week). 6-month commitment.
Start time — as soon as possible.
