Verdi’s Ernani at the Peterborough Players
Experience The Met: Live in HD

Peterborough, NH (February 8, 2012) – Ernani by Giuseppe Verdi will be broadcast live at the Peterborough Players on Saturday, February 25, at 1:00 PM. This is the 9th opera in The Met: Live in HD opera series, with two remaining in the 2011-12 season. All operas are broadcast live onto a 10' X 16' screen at the Peterborough Players’ 250-seat theatre.

Angela Meade takes center stage as Elvira in Verdi’s thrilling early gem. Marcello Giordani plays the title role as her mismatched lover, and all-star Verdians Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Ferruccio Furlanetto round out the cast. Marco Armiliato conducts. Ernani is an opera in four acts with a running time of approximately 3 hrs., 50 mins. The Italian libretto by Francesco Maria Piave is based on the play Hernani by Victor Hugo.
