Public Invited to Campus Housing Kick-Off Celebration
Peterborough Players, Sunday August 5, 2012, at 7pm

Peterborough, NH (July 19, 2012) – The public is invited to the official kick-off celebration of the Peterborough Players' On-Campus Housing Initiative on Sunday, August 5, 7:00 pm, at the Theater. James Whitmore, Jr., renowned TV director of NCIS and other current television shows, will provide the opening remarks. Mr. Whitmore is the son of James Whitmore, Sr., one of Hollywood's great actors who had his start at the Peterborough Players in 1947.

Housing of actors and interns over the years has become more and more challenging for the Players and increasingly expensive. Accordingly, the trustees and management decided in late 2010 to raise the funds to build housing in a meadow adjacent to the theater. Included will be a separate building where people can gather for meetings or casual dining. The new facilities will allow actors to live on campus without having to travel after dark, will help to attract new actors, and will decidedly reduce expenses.

The celebration will cover plans to break ground this coming September, along with visuals of floor plans and 3-D projections in color. Hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be served.
