About The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a hilariously heartfelt Tony Award-winning musical comedy with music and lyrics by William Finn, book by Rachel Sheinkin and was conceived by Rebecca Feldman.   The musical follows an eclectic group of six pre-teens (played by adult actors) competing for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Eight spellers enter but only one can win. Complete with audience participation, this show guarantees a one-of-a-kind musical theater experience that spells F-U-N!
Jen Wineman will be both directing and creating the choreography.
