MAN OF LA MANCHA

By Dale Wasserman
Music by Mitch Leigh
Lyrics by Joe Darion

August 14-25 2024

“To Dream the Impossible Dream… to fight the unbeatable foe…to reach the unreachable star.”

Adapted from Don Miguel de Cervantes’ classic Spanish novel, “Don Quixote”, “Man of La Mancha” is wonderfully theatrical, funny, and uplifting. While imprisoned by the Spanish Inquisition, Cervantes leads his fellow prisoners in the enactment of his as then unfinished manuscript, the story of Don Quixote and his often vain and sometimes foolish quest to right the world’s wrongs - “to dream the impossible dream” – that gave us the very word “quixotic.”  This profoundly moving musical illuminates our shared humanity through the art of storytelling and celebrates the triumph of hope over despair.

Since its 1966 debut, “Man of La Mancha” has been revived on Broadway four times.
