One of the most celebrated writers of the 20th century, Truman Capote was also one of its most complex personalities. His personal dalliances and extravagant lifestyle matched his writing and flair for the dramatic. The wild success of Breakfast at Tiffany's and In Cold Blood made him a transcendent literary star and gave him entrée to New York's social elite. Until he decided to write about them.
